We're Here To Make Connections.
It's That Simple.
We are here to connect our members to the financial services they need and support the local communities in which we reside. We have truly enjoyed partnering with so many organizations working to make a positive impact in the lives of others. Here are just a few initiatives, past and present, we have had the honor to take part in.
Guardian Connects
The connections Guardian makes within each community we serve are something truly special, but our goal is not just for us to connect with our surrounding communities. It is also for our neighbors to connect with one another. We hope, with these benches, you feel our heart for community and are able to make new connections of your own.
Thank you, Essential Employees!
Guardian is still here to serve both our membership and our community, and we admire those around us who continue to support our communities in the face of something so uncertain. Each of our branches and departments sought out ways to serve an essential worker group in their community as a way to thank them and let them know how much we appreciate them.
Maplesville Food Bank
A Thanksgiving food drive at our Maplesville branch in 2018 has only kept growing. The community’s response to this food drive, paired with our team’s desire to give back to those around them, inspired starting a community-run food bank. Backed by the city of Maplesville, Guardian opened a small food bank in the Sheriff’s Office.
Scholarship Fund
At Guardian, we believe in the importance of investing for the future. One way we invest in the next generation is our Guardian Scholarship Program, which awards 10 individuals with $2,500 each, totaling $25,000. We’re excited for the opportunity to help local students pursue their goals and prepare for a successful tomorrow.
Troy Athletics Sponsorship
Troy University is an important part of our community, providing a significant economic impact and educating our future community leaders. To show our support, Guardian partnered with the Troy athletic department to become the official sponsor of Troy Athletics. This sponsorship supports Troy's more than 400 student-athletes competing across 16 men's and women's championship sports in the NCAA Division I Sun Belt Conference.
Alabama Vs. Auburn Penny War
Guardian team members always seek out opportunities to lend a hand in our local communities, and our Taylor Road branch found a creative way to do just that! In the spirit of College Football, they organized an Alabama vs. Auburn Penny War for the month of August, raising funds to support the Cancer Wellness Foundation of Central Alabama, located in Montgomery.
Guardian Championship
One of the largest events we've had the opportunity to take part in is the Guardian Championship. It brings with it 120+ professional women's golfers from the Symetra Tour into the city of Prattville to compete on one of the world's best courses at Robert Trent Jones at Capitol Hill.
iCare
The Family Sunshine Center does a lot of important work in our local community. The Sunshine Center in Montgomery serves victims of abuse in several surrounding counties that many people might not even be aware of. We are proud to partner with them for their iCare Campaign to raise awareness of the prevalence of domestic violence and the steps we can take to prevent it.
All the Love for MACOA
Guardian’s heart to serve stretches from leadership to our newest team member. Service is so important to who Guardian is that we want to ensure every new team member has the opportunity to experience it firsthand; through a wonderful relationship with the Montgomery Area Council on Aging, we are able to do just that.
