The Montgomery Area Council on Aging operates the Montgomery Meals on Wheels program and has been serving Montgomery’s senior community for the past 50 years. They live out their mission by aiding senior citizens through services that promote independent living, enhance quality of life, and increase community awareness of senior issues.
MACOA serves more than 5,000 seniors per month and provides hot meals for 428 seniors Monday through Friday. Originally developed out of the overwhelming need in the community, the program serves seniors across Autauga, Elmore, and Montgomery Counties.
Throughout the evolution of the program, additional services and resources have been added to meet additional needs that became apparent through keen volunteers taking notice while dropping meals off to their clients. One additional resource MACOA has added is providing hygiene care bags at least twice a year to help provide needed products.
Guardian became aware that MACOA needed help to achieve its goal of providing hygiene bags to each of its clients and jumped at the opportunity to help contribute. We would like to thank MACOA for their continued dedication to serving our community and are grateful for our continued partnership.
