Greenville, Alabama is already an incredibly close-knit community. It should come as no surprise that, when faced with tough times, community members banned together to help in any way they could. Local retailer Sweet Heart Alabama wanted to support other local businesses, so began making and selling “I Believe in Greenville” shirts. They will donate $10 from each shirt sale to another local business located in Butler County. This supports their local economy, and, more importantly, their friends.
Our team bought these shirts for essential employees to show their appreciation for their hard work and brighten their days. Two local nurses, and Guardian members, made the journey to New York to serve in a hospital treating COVID-19 patients. Our team sent them each an “I Believe in Greenville” shirt along with other local items to remind them of home and let them know their entire community was cheering them on.
Our Greenville team continues to show their thanks and appreciation to groups close to them. They also provided the City Sanitation workers with lunch from local BBQ65, along with Guardian sunglasses and cold towels. They provided energy teas and gift certificates from local Nutrition Spot to the Greenville Emergency Management EMTs; bought lunch for local Piggly Wiggly and Amedisys Home Health employees; and gave away Guardian gift baskets to Country Place, Jones Drugs, Greenville Pediatrics, Jackson Clinic, and Hancock Bank.
While these groups continue to go above and beyond for their community, Guardian wanted to thank them for their hard work. We admire their dedication to service and their community, and hope they know how appreciated they are. Learn more about how we are staying involved in each of our communities here.
